Accessibility statement
Last updated:
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities who use a screen reader, a keyboard, screen magnification or other assistive technology.
Accessibility level
The website was built to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) at level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 5773-2013. IS 5568 is based on the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines. We also follow the newer WCAG 2.1 at level AA, which is the level the European standard EN 301 549 asks for.
The website is accessible, apart from the parts listed under “Known limitations” below.
What we did
- A clear page structure with headings, page regions and a “Skip to content” link.
- Full Hebrew support: right-to-left layout and correct language marking on every page, including text in another language.
- Everything can be used with the keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Meaningful images have a text alternative. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text has enough contrast with its background (at least 4.5:1 for normal text).
- Text can be enlarged to 200%, and the layout adapts to screens as narrow as 320 pixels without scrolling sideways.
- No flashing content and no text that moves by itself. Animations are reduced when your device asks for less motion.
- Links and buttons say where they go or what they do.
- The cookie settings work with a keyboard and a screen reader and use real, labelled checkboxes. The choice to reject is as easy as the choice to accept.
- Every page was checked with an automated accessibility test (axe), by using it with the keyboard only, and at different screen sizes.
Browsers and assistive technology
The website is designed to work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers, phones and tablets, together with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
Known limitations
- PDF files: the printable games are picture cards meant to be printed, and the research summaries are short documents. They have a document title and language set, but they are not fully tagged for screen readers. The main points of each research summary are also written as text on the download page. If you need an accessible version of a file, email us and we will help.
- Online games in the members area: these are visual memory and matching games. The buttons work with a keyboard and a screen reader, but playing depends on seeing the pictures.
- New content, such as new blog posts, is checked when it is added. Mistakes can still happen, so please tell us if you find one.

If something on the website does not work for you, or you need information in a different format, please contact our accessibility coordinator. We are happy to help.
